With immediate effect, Struik Foods Europe NV is acquiring Sonnen Bassermann from H.J. Heinz GmbH. Sonnen Bassermann is the second-largest brand in the German market for soups and ready meals. This acquisition reinforces Struik Foods’ leading position in the West European market, and in particular in the 80-million-consumer strong German market. Consequently, this acquisition is an excellent fulfilment of the company’s strategic ambitions to invigorate its European growth.

The Hague (the Netherlands)/Schoten [Belgium]), 15 March 2012. - Hans Struik, owner and President of Struik Foods Europe, was appointed to Officer of the Order of Leopold. The decorations for this great distinction were handed over to him by Frank Geerkens, Belgian ambassador in the Netherlands. Struik received this decoration on account of, amongst other things, his successful economic activities in Schoten.
